Aristotle (Ancient Greek: Ἀριστοτέλης [aristotélɛːs], Aristotélēs) (384 BC – 322 BC)[1] was a Greek philosopher and polymath, a student of Plato and teacher of Alexander the Great. His writings cover many subjects, including physics, metaphysics, poetry, theater, music, logic, rhetoric, linguistics, politics, government, ethics, biology, and zoology. Together with Plato and Socrates (Plato's teacher), Aristotle is one of the most important founding figures in Western philosophy. Aristotle's writings were the first to create a comprehensive system of Western philosophy, encompassing morality, aesthetics, logic, science, politics, and metaphysics. Aristotle's views on the physical sciences profoundly shaped medieval scholarship, and their influence extended well into the Renaissance, although they were ultimately replaced by Newtonian physics. In the zoological sciences, some of his observations were confirmed to be accurate only in the 19th century. Room 11's topic

In Room 11 for the past week we have been working on our new topic, so far we have started talking about exporting and importing finding what countries foods come from and how long it takes them to get here.E.g. Eve apples they come from Nelson, Bluebird chips come from Auckland we have also been thinking about what other foods come into New Zealand like Bananas they come from another country. We have also been looking at fair trade what do they make so we set out to discover this. Jonty and I found out they sell sports gear, clothes,food e.g. frozen yogurt and they also sell foot lotion so I am really looking forward to discovering more

We have started researching for our poster or digital presentations which I have started with my digital power point and so far I have found out that Bananas and coffee are the best selling products with the bananas reaching half a billion U.K pounds wow I also found out that that there are 25 fair trade organisations which have been around since 1980 so I'm looking forward to presenting my  power point to the class before the Easter break. Buy fair trade so growers and pickers get a fair deal!

term 1 week 6 reflection/ [votw] video of the week

This week has been pretty full on in room  11 with Central athletics, maths test, getting our treaty done, starting our new topic and sewing our flag together for today. It hasn't all been bad though, I got to see my two best friends Thomas and Sam. So to the maths test I think I did pretty well so to finish the week on  a high note it's time for a song.

Winton saint Thomas sport day

On Wednesday March the 6th Winton School and ST Thomas joined up on this cold Windy day to run jump and throw the best they can to see if they can get into central. I was competing in the 12 year old boys.

First up we had shot put OK lets get this straight Cammy is not great at shot put he got a one also he did bad in every other event but he did gas Dene Guin in the 100 metre sprint even when I had a sore leg oh and my best friend came first in discus.  He threw over 19.5  metres because he threw a massive 19.98 metre throw well I could never do that well lets get 1 thing straight  I HAD A SORE LEG!   So lets hope its better for touch on Friday. But over all it was  a great day with awesome results so good work Winton.
